Child Dental Benefits Schedule
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule is a dental benefits program for eligible children aged 2-17 years that provides up to $1,000 in benefits to the child for basic dental services. The Child Dental Benefits Schedule replaces the Medicare Teen Dental Plan from 01 January 2014.
Dentists @ Coorparoo Bulk Bills almost every treatment that is eligible under this scheme – that means there is no extra pocket cost to you!
The good news is that it gives your child, up to $1000 worth of dental treatment over 2 years. Unlike the Teen Dental Plan which was only limited to about $167 worth of treatment per voucher. Now, the scope of treatment has expanded and will benefit Australian kids!

Once your child’s eligibility has been confirmed, there are a few steps that Dentists @ Coorparoo will take in order to ensure the entire process goes smoothly:
- Your eligible amount will be determined. You will only be provided the treatment worth within the remainder of the $1000.
- Propose a treatment along with providing a quote of the total value of your treatment
- Obtain consent (sign a form) to make sure you understand the treatment and the value of your treatment
Dentists @ Coorparoo will Bulk Bill the treatment for children CDBS as long as it is within the $1000 cap over 2 consecutive years. You will be informed of any cost of BEFORE treatment proceeds.
